which was first celebrated in 1996, aims to give people across Australia the opportunity to focus on reconciliation between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians. It is a time to 'reflect on achievements so far and on what must still be done to achieve reconciliation' (Reconciliation Australia).

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) falls between 27 May and 3 June - two significant dates in the relations between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.

Saturday 3rd June, 1.30pm, Newcastle Regional Museum

Forum addressing the future of Aboriginal Reconciliation. Speakers include Kevin Williams, Laurel Williams and Louise Campbell.

SCHOLARSHIP DINNER DANCE

Saturday 3rd June, 6pm, Brennan Room, Uni of Newcastle

Hosted by: Wollotuka School of Aboriginal Studies.

 

All profits from dance will be donated towards The University of Newcastle Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Fund.

Tickets: $50 Student/concession: $25 (Includes hors d'oeuvres, 3 course dinner & entertainment.)
